Welcome to our October Speaker News update. With restrictions coming back into force again in the last few weeks, it has been another frustrating time for the live events industry.
With many organisations unable to plan for the future, virtual events seem to be the way forward still for the time being, and this month we have updates from a number of speakers on their virtual talks, including from Neil Mullarkey and Katie Piper, as well as recent feedback on events featuring Matt Ellison, Anthony Bennett, and Dame Kelly Holmes.

We are delighted to have added Jasmine Birtles to the Scamp Speakers website. Jasmine Birtles is a financial expert, TV presenter, author, and business commentator.
Most recently during the coronavirus pandemic, Jasmine has created several new online talks including –
How to be rich without really trying. It is a fun and informative guide to getting on top of your money and starting to invest. It lasts about an hour (including questions and answers) and will help people make the most of the money they have and give them the confidence to start investing it too.
How to come out of Lockdown richer than before. This is for people who are working from home and feeling trapped and bored. It will go through all the things you can do to get on top of finances and paperwork…and even make some money on the side. It will cover switching utilities, doing a Will (or updating a current one), getting to grips with your pension (pensions), and moving investments around to make the most of those. It will also include sorting out drawers and cupboards to free up items to sell – where to sell specialist and collector’s items and how to get rid of stuff quickly if you’re sick of seeing it. Then it will cover ways to make money on the side – online earners and side hustles that you can set up in your spare evenings and weekends while you can’t really go anywhere!

Katie Piper is a best-selling international author, inspirational speaker, TV presenter, and charity campaigner. Katie decided to share her story in a remarkable film for the Cutting Edge strand on Channel 4 called ‘Katie: My Beautiful Face’ which was watched by over 3.5million viewers and nominated for Best Single Documentary at the BAFTA Television Awards in 2010.

Neil Mullarkey recently spoke at the Northumbrian Water Innovation Festival and in the past few months been running fun team-building sessions, teaching improv skills, sharing his tips on how to re-invigorate virtual meetings. Recent feedback Neil shared with us included –
