Intrapreneurship – An Employee Outlook
Award-winning business mentor, Alison Edgar, shares the lessons she has learned as both a corporate employee and business owner. Alison presents a new approach to leadership andmanagement, known as what she calls the Intrapreneurship approach. Alison says “looking back, when I worked for large corporate organisations, comparing the attitude of colleagues between the ones who exceeded targets and the ones who didn’t, there is one clear difference and that is an intrapreneurial outlook”
In this thought-provoking session, Alison, explains how a change in mindset can result in a highly driven and engaged team. An intrapreneurial attitude is when an employee carries out their role as if they are running their own business. For example, a marketing director would manage their department as if it was an independent cost centre. Taking on every project with the same passion, dedication, and commitment as they would if they were an entrepreneur running their own company.
Inspirational and straight-talking, Alison speaks from a position of experience, engaging with her audience through personal anecdotes from her career in sales and business. Her larger than life Scottish personality makes for an upbeat performance, filling the room with energy and leaving the audience feeling motivated and uplifted.
