The Sporting Year 2024
The 2023 Sporting Year was marked by the Women’s Football World Cup, the Men’s Rugby World Cup, and Men’s Cricket World Cup. 2024 brings us an array of exciting sporting events with the highlights likely to be the Olympic and Paralympic Games in France and the Mens Euro Football Finals.

UEFA MENS EURO FINALS – June 14th to July 14th, 2024
Sir Geoff Hurst is best known for scoring a hat-trick for England in the World Cup Final in 1966 and is a popular after-dinner and motivational speaker. Sir Geoff Hurst won 49 caps and scored 24 goals for England but is best remembered, of course, for scoring a hat trick in the 1966 World Cup Final triumph against Germany.
Matthew Upson is a former Premier League and England International Footballer and a motivational speaker on self-determination, leadership, and teamwork. Matthew is a former England footballer who represented his country at the 2010 World Cup and who played for Arsenal, West Ham, Birmingham, Brighton and Stoke. Matthew Upson now works as a co-commentator and studio analyst for the BBC, Five Live, and the Premier League channel.

THE OLYMPIC GAMES – July 26th to August 11th, 2024
Sir Steve Redgrave is an inspirational & motivational speaker and 5 times Olympic Gold Rowing Medalist. The 23rd September 2000 was guaranteed a special place in the history of the Olympic Games, when Britain’s Sir Steve Redgrave won his FIFTH GOLD MEDAL in five successive Games – Los Angeles, Seoul, Barcelona, Atlanta, and Sydney. Redgrave’s feat is unique in the annals of Olympic endurance achievements and, in the words of IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch, “Raises Sir Steve Redgrave to the highest rank of Olympic participants.”
Sally Gunnell is an Olympic Athlete and 2022 marks her 30th anniversary of winning gold at the Barcelona 1992 Olympics, in 400m hurdles. Following her retirement from international athletics, Sally developed a new career as a television presenter and motivational speaker. She has written four books on fitness, health, self-fulfillment and well-being.
Colonel Dame Kelly Holmes is a British icon and an inspiration During a 12-year international career, Kelly won multiple medals at the Commonwealth, European, World, and Olympic levels, culminating in two Gold Medals at the 2004 Athens Olympics Games for the 800m and 1500m, which cemented her place in history as the first women ever in Great Britain to win two gold medals at the same games. She was honoured with a Damehood in 2005 for services to sport.

PARALYMPIC GAMES – August 28th to September 8th 2024
Anne Wafula Strike, MBE, is an inspirational and motivational speaker who draws on her own life experiences and achievements to inspire her audiences. 2004 marked the beginning of an Olympic career when Anne became the first wheelchair racer from Sub-Sahara Africa to compete at the Paralympics in Athens. In 2006 Anne became a British citizen and joined Team GB and in 2007 she was officially recognised by the Queen at a Buckingham Palace reception for her work as a disabled athlete and for involvement in charity work for people with disabilities.
Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson is one of the UK’s most successful and celebrated Paralympians and an inspirational and motivational speaker. Her Paralympic Career began in Seoul in 1988 where she won a bronze medal but improved on this by winning four gold medals in Barcelona in 1992 when she won the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800 metres and also got a silver in the 4x100m relay.
She won another gold at the 1996 Atlanta Games, four golds at the Sydney 2000 Games, and her final golds in Athens in 2004 taking her total to 11 gold, four silvers, and one bronze (plus five gold, four silver, and three bronze medals at World Championships)
Danny Crates is a highly experienced and sought-after keynote speaker who guarantees excellent returns for his clients way beyond presentation day.
After losing his right arm in a horrific accident at just 21 years old, Danny was determined to overcome that huge hurdle in his life, focus on the future, and regain his positive mental attitude. Danny’s drive and determination saw him back on the rugby field within 6 months and shortly after into Paralympic sport, quickly dominating – famously winning gold in the men’s 800 metres at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, a year which also saw him set a new world record. It was the highlight of a glittering international career that saw Danny win every major title in the sport, including the World Championships, European Championships, and Paralympic World Cup.
