NEW SPEAKER

We are delighted to have added Michael Maisey to the website.

Michael Maisey is a NonProfit Founder, Author, Mentor and an inspirational speaker on how change is possible and the importance of empathy and kindness.

Michael Maisey has built a career on kindness, overcoming adversity and healthy masculinity. He knows that if these concepts are introduced, they can bring about life changing results and lead to a more purposeful life. He is passionate about social responsibility in business and applauds all companies who embrace it.

Michael survived a turbulent and traumatic childhood that resulted in him joining a gang and eventually being imprisoned at sixteen. Reformed and humbled by the acts of kindness he experienced following his prison sentence, Michael embarked on an exhaustive journey of self development determined to change his life. In 2012 he set up a successful business in his home town in London. His company was founded on the principles of honesty and integrity. Not only did he earn the respect of his clients and employees but also the locals in the community.

His speaking topics include –

  • The tools we can use to bring calm in challenging times.
  • Breaking down the barriers of communication within mental health.
  • The importance and benefits of empathy and compassion in the workplace.

OTHER NEWS

Maria Conceicao is an Guiness World Record holder Philanthropist and Motivational Speaker.

Maria is more than her description: innovator, humanitarian, the first Portuguese woman to summit Everest or trek to the North and South Pole. She’s a philanthropist, a teacher, a mother figure to dozens of successful young people – and a compelling public speaker who elevates her audience as she relates her own incredible journey. She has recently update her biog and send us her new showreel too.

The amazing Tilly Lockey recently spoke for us at an annual conference in October. Developing state-of-the-art bionic arms with Open Bionics which she wears every day, receiving Humanitarian awards in New York, most recently winning a talent competition, ‘Got What It Takes’ and performing to an audience of 20,000 at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, all with a thriving online presence across all social platforms.

In September she released her first single “Porcelain” and to listen to the song please visit Soundcloud.

Cath Knibbs is a Clinical Doctoral Researcher, Online Harms and Cybertrauma Consultant, Public Speaker, Author (of 5 books to date), Educator and TEDx Speaker.

Cath has recently sent us some details on some updated talks for the Cybersecurity Sector and School Talks (see below) and a link to her TedEx Talk on “The Real Social Dilemma”.

For CyberSecurity Talks/Events

There is a possibility (due to known rising figures of access to and distribution of) that an employee or member of staff has or is accessing images or videos of child sexual abuse (CSAM) using a work computer or system (either in the workplace, at home or on/offsite). When thinking of roles such as those involved in back-ups, repairs, renewing, restoring devices or even system audits this leaves those professionals in these roles open to accessing these files or links which may not be labelled in a way that prepares the viewer for the contents. Is your company versed in the law around what to do and do you have systems in place to support staff who may bear witness to these images and videos and what may be happening for them in cybertrauma? What policies and procedures do you have for working with this issue in cyber?

For School talks

As KCSIE and Working Together 2023 suggest supporting children in school around technology is paramount as part of these policies. Are you prepared with a safeguarding approach to dealing with images of pornography (war material/12,15 and 18+ rated material) that are accessed on the way in/out or on your school property? As a school you may have a phone ban in place, however, we know in today’s age that many children can circumnavigate rules and may access this kind of material on both phones and technology within the school setting. Are you versed in the impact of this kind of material on children and how you can deal with it as a school? Do you have policies and procedures around how to manage the impact of viewing adult/war/illegal material and the cybertrauma that may follow?

That’s is for November. As always if you have any enquiries or questions please contact us on enquiries@scampspeakers.co.uk or call us on 020 8854 7247.
