Conference Host & Awards Presenter & Keynote Speaker
Angela Lamont is a vastly experienced Conference Host, Conference Facilitator, Awards Presenter and keynote speaker, whose specialty is presenting science, technology, and engineering events and television shows.
A broadcaster with over 200 BBC TV shows to her name (plus a BAFTA), including “It’ll Never Work?”, “Fragile Planet” and “The Network”, Angela Lamont also loves to engage with live audiences, having hosted over 500 conferences, award ceremonies and live events. Her clients include CERN, ESA, Ericsson, Experian, IEE, Kaspersky, The Open University and UKAEA among many others. Her ability to handle (and pronounce!) complex scientific, financial and technical topics is legendary and she has chaired conferences from a select few at Buckingham Palace, to 14,000 in Copenhagen.
As well as live events, Angela hosts live streams, either from a studio location or from her own dedicated studio and tech gallery at home, where her team can provide you with an entire live streamed conference or chat show. Her team have been providing this service to clients such as The Open University, Pearson Television and Sound Advice since 2015.
Before joining the BBC, Angela Lamont worked in tech and witnessed such world-changing events such as the first computer virus being unleashed and paralysing networks worldwide. Her warmth and passion for those working in tech is evident, but so is her understanding of technophobes and those who are uncomfortable with change.
Her talent lies in bringing out the best in both your audience and speakers so your event is meaningful, memorable and acts as a catalyst for change. She has clocked up nearly 30 years in the industry and is unflappable, approachable and ridiculously well prepared!”. The number of repeat bookings for her is testament to her capability, experience…and being very easy to work with.
Angela Lamont handles some of the most complex topics in the world, such as space, fusion, AI, sustainability, cybersecurity and fintech…but they all make perfect sense with her down-to-earth, engaging style. Panels become passionate chats, speakers feel able to give their best and audiences leave knowing how they can make a real difference.
Angela Lamont has worked on conferences and awards events for clients such as Amdocs, BAE Systems, BECTA, CIO Connect, De Lage Landen (part of Rabobank), DfT (THINK! road safety), DfES, The Home Office, The Iter Organisation (International fusion organisation),KPMG, Oracle, UCISA.
In an industry where many clients like to have a different host each year, a lot of Angela’s work is repeat business, a testament to her professionalism.
Angela’s keynotes are born out of being a hard-working techie when she left university. They show the incredible world-changing events that those in tech can witness…and yet the blood, sweat and tears that the individuals put into making the new tech world turn.
They’re aimed, not at surviving, but thriving on change. And with keynote names such as “It Shouldn’t Happen To A Geek” and “How to Lose 10lb, get whiter teeth, save the planet and improve your sex life just by following this one weird tip”, you can bet they’re packed with laughs, too!
Extremely good. Angela took time to research the audience and event and asking for guidance when required.
I can recommend Angela highly. She made our awards this year as she is highly professional, intelligent and personable. We will certainly be looking for other opportunities to use her for future events.
— Chemical Industries Association
Angela was very well received by the delegates and, from our point of view, a pleasure to work with. I will forward individual comments picked up from our survey analysis shortly.
Angela was inventive and imaginative with the given material. Her segment was very short and consisted of mostly an interaction with an executive, and remotely from the lobby at that, but the bit went over very well. I can say my clients were very pleased with her performance.
— InVision Communications
Angela put together a really good intro about the sustainable business industry that was pitched just right. She was a true professional and a pleasure to work with. We've had lots of positive comments following the ceremony about what a good job she’d done.-
