SPEAKER UPDATES

Andy Lopata is a specialist speaker on networking and social media strategy and a Professional relationships Strategist. Andy has sent us details on his new talk called Vulnerable Leadership –

Vulnerable Leadership

Leadership people look to their leaders for strength and direction, particularly in times of uncertainty. But does that mean that leaders need to know all of the answers, all of the time? At a time when people are being encouraged to share their vulnerability, how can leaders do so while still commanding respect? If, indeed, it is desirable for them to do so.

Andy Lopata explores the apparent contradictions between vulnerability and strong leadership. Andy proposes that not only is vulnerability an asset for leaders but it is a sign of strength and works to the benefit of the leader as an individual and the people they lead. In the talk, Andy discusses how we expect our leaders to be strong, and be seen to be strong; to be resilient and to be seen to be resilient; to take the lead and be seen to take the lead. Culturally we are conditioned to see these qualities as the polar opposite of vulnerability but Andy argues that, in fact, each of these qualities is aided by leaders being more vulnerable and authentic. This can be delivered as a keynote talk, a facilitated discussion, or a combination of the two.

Mark Denton is a leadership expert, and celebrated keynote speaker with vast experience navigating turbulent waters. In his professional sailing career, he’s competed in countless races and sailed over 80,000 miles across the world’s most hostile oceans. The pinnacle of this was leading a diverse amateur team to success in the ‘world’s toughest’ round-the-world yacht race the BT Global Challenge 2000-01 where he achieved a podium position. Mark has also sent us an updated biog and showreel for 2023.

Caspar Craven is a Leading Authority and speaker in Achieving Big Bold Goals through effective Leadership and Teamwork. Big Bold Goals stretch what we believe is possible. When we set big bold goals, we also build a plan grounded in reality to achieve it.

NEW SPEAKERS

We are delighted to welcome Kathryn Colas to our website

Kathryn Colas is a hugely respected voice and speaker for women going through the menopause.

Kathryn Colas resigned from a senior executive role in hotel management because of an unknown challenge that she was totally unprepared for. Menopause, the debilitating symptoms, lack of awareness, and the dense shroud of taboo were totally unexpected and difficult to accept. As someone who had always relied on her inner resilience, perseverance, and bounce-back approach, Kathryn decided to pursue answers to all of the questions that simply didn’t make any sense.

In 2012 she founded her first business, the women’s advice and support service Simply Hormones, and became a sought-after media commentator and public speaker, recognised for her work with NGOs, public and private sector organisations in improving understanding of menopausal symptoms; empowering women with better information while influencing policy and practices in the workplace.
