Explorer Speakers

Explorer Speakers

According to the Cambridge Dictionary one of the meanings of to “explore” is to “travel to a new place to learn about it or become familiar with it.”

We work with a number of speakers that have explored challenging environments and using these experiences they talk at conferences and events on leadership, going into the unknown, risk taking and teamwork.

If you looking for an explorer type speaker these are just a few of the speakers we work with.

MARIA CONCEICAO

Few people can captivate audiences with charm alone. Fewer still can inspire them to great heights by telling powerful stories about their own choices, obstacles, failures and triumphs, and point to ways their efforts have led to the tangible enrichment of hundreds of lives. Maria Conceição is one of those people.

She is more than her description: innovator, humanitarian, the first Portuguese woman to summit Everest or trek to the North and South Pole. She’s a philanthropist, a teacher, a mother figure to dozens of successful young people – and a compelling public speaker who elevates her audience as she relates her own incredible journey. In July 2024 Maria became the first Portuguese Women to Summit K2.

ALAN CHAMBERS MBE

Alan Chambers speaker bookingAlan Chambers MBE is a Polar Explorer and an Inspirational, Motivational and leadership speaker who led the first successful British unsupported expedition from Canada to the Geographic North Pole.

In temperatures as low as low as -65°C his team walked 672 nautical miles. Dragging a sled with the weight of a baby elephant, and after 70 days on the ice, Alan and his team raised the Union Jack at the North Pole in May 2000.

Not stopping there Alan has led over a dozen North Pole expeditions with top business leaders and chief executives. The experience helps them to explore and reflect on their own leadership capabilities.

OLI FRANCE

Oli France is an adventurer and professional expedition leader and inspirational speaker on leadership and confidence. He has shared his story across the UK and Europe at corporate and charity events, schools and award ceremonies.

Whether speaking to small teams, groups of 500 people, or virtually, to remote audiences, Oli’s mission is quite simple: To guide the audience on a journey, bringing empowering new perspectives on resilience, self-confidence, leadership and how we can fulfil our boldest life goals.

For over a decade, Oli’s adventures have taken him through deserts, jungles, mountains, and war-torn regions. He has faced spies, interrogators, minefields and arrest, along with avalanches, earthquakes, meningitis and severe dehydration, all while attempting to complete challenging journeys in remote corners of the world, alone or while leading a team.

PAULA REID

From Skiing to the South Pole to Yacht Racing round-the-world, Paula Reid has learned to develop the mindset to thrive and perform in the toughest of conditions.  Paula draws on her extreme adventuring experience, extensive business acumen and Masters in Applied Positive Psychology to help individuals and organisations survive, cope, and thrive in uncertain and challenging conditions.

Her 120 adventures to date include becoming the 3rd British woman and 14th international woman to ski the 1000 km trek to the South Pole.  So far only 300 people have successfully completed this journey through remote, freezing terrain.

Prior to this, with no previous sailing experience, she was a core crew member of the Global Challenge World’s Toughest Yacht Race, racing 35,000 miles the ‘wrong way’ around the world.  The race lasted for ten months, including 187 days at sea; 75 of which were spent in the notoriously freezing and dangerous Southern Ocean. In a ground breaking expedition she paddled 600 miles down the Mekong in a dugout canoe which she bought off a tribal chief in rural Cambodia.

MITCH HUTCHCRAFT

Mitch Hutchcraft is a former Royal Marine Commando, speaker and author and multiple world record breaking adventurer and endurance athlete, including the longest climb of Mt Everest in history. He is also a Mental health and wildlife conservation ambassador

Growing up in Cambridgeshire and the flattest part of the UK it fuelled his fascination for the mountains and adventures that lay beyond. After moving to Cyprus at a young age he soon had his heart set on his first ‘expedition’ and after just turning 16 he flew to Africa on his own and with no team, and climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, becoming one of the youngest people to do so.

Returning to the UK he studied zoology and animal care for 2 years and moved to Australia but soon returned to the UK where he joined the Royal Marines.

Shortly after leaving the Royal Marines in April 2021, he was asked by a friend how he would feel about rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean. ‘Sound fun’ was the immediate response and after a whirlwind 8 months he found myself rowing across an Ocean with 3 incredible guys.

Since then he has taken on numerous challenges including –

  • Completing the longest climb of Mt Everest in history (13,157 km by human power)
  • First-ever triathlon to the top of the world
  • Cycled 3,000 miles solo across the USA
  • First and only person to run from the lowest to the highest point in the UK ( 16 back-to-back ultramarathons)
  • ‘’Peak & Pond” Challenge – completing Everest + English Channel swim within 12 months (Only person in history)
  • Completed an Ironman pulling my 33kg golden retriever
