This is our monthly news round of updates we have received from speakers in the past month or so. This month it includes updates from James Poulter on his new website, feedback from recent events and some updated speeches speakers are providing during these unprecedented times.
James Poulter has recently updated his website www.jamespoulter.co.uk to include more details on his speaking work, his work with Vixen labs and some of his latest innvovation vlogs. His speaking topics include –
- Ambient Technology -In this presentation James talks on the impact of voice assistance, AI and conversational technology and how it is becoming the anecdote to our digital distraction and impact it will have and can have in the future. - 2025 – Autonomous Connected & Enabled – In this presentation James takes you into the not too distant future to look at the real impact of new and advancing existing technologies and how they will impact individuals lives in a 24 hour period and what long term benefits they will bring.

In this talk James will show you where your organisation sits on the “innovation pendulum” and how you can shift from a siloed approach to an culture of innovation.

Strategic Innovation in a COVID World
Those companies who disrupt their industries with new business models more relevant in a COVID world will survive and thrive. We often hear about innovation in the context of inventing new products or services. One of the innovation levers of senior executives, one which can be even more powerful in transforming business success, is reinventing one’s business model. The implications of strategic innovation can be profound for customers, employees and communities, particularly if they demonstrate the authenticity and honesty to respond to the context of an uncertain world amidst a pandemic. We will explore how to do so.
Adaptability in a COVID World
We all know that we are living through an age of unprecedented rates of change. We are all well versed in narratives about landscape shifts, industry disruptions, strategy redundancies. However, familiarity with the challenge does not necessarily equal a solution. What do we as individuals need to navigate these waters? What skills do leaders especially need to develop to keep their organisations relevant and successful in the 21st century?
Helen Sharman became the first British Astronaut when in May 1991, aged 27, she launched on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. She spent 8 days orbiting the Earth, living and working on the MIR Space Station. Helen is available for pre-recorded speeches for clients each tailored to each clients needs.
We are delighted to have added Chuka Umunna to our website. Chuka is the current Executive Director and Head of ESG at Edelman and is the former Member of Parliament for Streatham. Chuka speaks on Environmental, Social and Governance factors in business and building back better in a COVID-19 world.
We are also pleased to have added Bill Grimsey to the website. Bill Grimsey is a business speaker and retailer with 45 years active experience. During his career he held senior Director positions at Budgens and Tesco before becoming the Managing Director of Park’n’Shop Ltd, Hong Kong’s leading Supermarket Chain.vBill has recently written the third Grimsey review in the light of the Covid-19. Whilst many of the statistics are shocking it also highlights some opportunities that are real and positive.
We were delighted to hear Boris Johnson announcement on the 17th July that from the 1st October 2020 conferences and exhibtions can start to take place again. Lastly, our thoughts are with the family and friends of Jack Charlton. I had the opportunity to work with Jack on a number of sporting dinners in the early part of my career and he was always very kind and a pleasure to work with and was a hugely entertaining after dinner speaker.
