Building a Culture of Innovation – Cris Beswick

When people contact us about looking for a speaker on Innovation they are either looking for a speaker who can talk on creating an innovation culture within a business, or they looking for a speaker who can talk on the technological changes that we can expect to impact on business in the immediate future and beyond.

Whilst there are cross overs within these topics, we wanted to take this opportunity in our next two news pieces to cover these subjects individually and focus on two speakers in particular.

Cris Beswick is a global thought leader and strategic advisor on innovation and the bestselling author of ‘Building a Culture of Innovation’

Cris is best known for working with CEOs and senior leadership teams to help them understand the three main components of innovation capability, namely, strategy, leadership, and culture. The summary of those three pillars is covered in his bestselling book “Building a Culture of Innovation”.

Originally trained as an industrial designer, Cris Beswick spent over a decade as a successful entrepreneur building an award-winning strategy & design group. As an ex-designer Cris’ understanding of how to communicate innovation and how an innovation-focussed culture is weaved into the very core of an organisation is inspiring.

CHANGING THE ORGANISATIONAL CLIMATE FOR INNOVATION TO THRIVE

In this recent article published in September this year, Cris addresses what Innovation feels like for everyone.

In his own words –

**This ODC (Own-Drive-Contribute) framework may look simple, but it encompasses some of the most critical elements of genuinely innovative organisations. What do you need to broaden innovation culture? How do capabilities, mindsets, and behaviours weave into delivery? And why is promoting the emotional side of innovation, engagement, empathy, and so on, as important as providing the physical tools and structures to enable change? And for our purposes here, the framework also highlights the critical place which managers hold within the innovation ecosystem.

So my challenge to you as leaders is this; if you are serious about transforming your organisation to deliver innovative solutions then take a fresh look at your managers, equip them with skills they need, and engage them in the vision. You might find that rather than a perceived barrier to progress, they become catalysts for positive change. And when that happens who knows where your ecosystem may take you?

If you are looking for a speaker who can talk on creating a culture of innovation within your business, Cris presents in a down-to-earth and unique presentation style where he focuses on the strategy, leadership, and culture game-changing innovation and how, in his own words, “CEOs and senior teams need to become a little more Martin Luther King and a little more Einstein.”

In line with many speakers, Cris has now pivoted his talks to online keynotes speeches during the COVID Crisis and can cover subjects such as –

  • Why Strategy, Leadership & Culture Should Eat Breakfast Together
  • Building a Culture of Innovation
  • Corporate Transformation and Change
  • Building Next-Generation Organisations
  • Innovation Leadership in a VUCA World
  • Shaping the Future through Innovation
  • The Strategy, Leadership & Culture Innovation Requires
  • Why we need to build Innovation-led Organisations, Now!

Cris has helped some of the world’s most ambitious CEOs, visionary leaders, Fortune 500 companies and Governments solve their most complex innovation challenges.

Cris also sits on think-tanks for both public and private sector organisations and has delivered masterclasses for the likes of Cranfield School of Management, The Centre for Customised Executive Development, Henley Business School, and Southampton Business School. He is also a visiting Professor of Innovation at ICESI University in Colombia.
