NEW SPEAKERS

We are delighted to have added Becky Holmes and Katy McLean to our website.

Becky Holmes is an author, speaker on fraud and the creator of popular Twitter/X account @deathtospinach.

In 2020, having been on the receiving end of an annoying number of direct messages from online romance scammers, Becky started to enjoy wasting their time and publicly ‘outing’ their accounts. Five years later she is now a well-known expert on romance fraud, called upon by both professionals and the media. Her book, Keanu Reeves Is Not In Love With You, has received outstanding reviews from critics, journalists, comedians, counter-fraud professionals and everyday readers.

She has become a regular guest on radio and podcasts around the world where she talks about all things romance fraud, whether that be with a light-hearted touch such as ITV’s This Morning or Richard Herring’s Book Club podcast or with a more serious tone as on Jeremy Vine’s BBC Radio 2 show or BBC Breakfast.

Hailing from the North East of England, Katy Mclean MBE is one of the UK’s most high profile Sportswomen, and has developed an imitable reputation as both a player and a leader.

Following in the footsteps of Dad David and uncle Harold, Katy began taking part in the game at the age of 5 and was involved in mixed rugby from the ages of 6 to 12 years of age.

Although forced to pursue other sports including hockey, netball and football until the age of 16 as there were no girls’ teams in the region, Katy soon returned to her first passion and excelled, representing England for U18, U19, Academy and England A sides.  In December 2020 Katy announced her retirement from international Rugby leaving her legacy of being the third most capped player and second highest England points scorer of all time with a total of 542. Katy also held the England captaincy for over four years and led her nation to a famous IRB World Cup victory at the Jean Bouin stadium, Paris in 2014.
