Our July Book of the month is the “The Little Book of Belonging” by Jackie Handy, a keynote speaker on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. With words to motivate you and questions for self-reflection, The Little Book of Belonging provides you with simple ideas spanning 52 weeks, that will have a positive impact on your life and on the lives of those around you.

Inspirational and Business Speaker Phil Olley, has recently devised several new talks that are aimed at young adults and those working in the educational or healthcare management – Stepping up the Start Line and Self Leadership for Busy Professionals in Challenging Times. 

We often get asked can we book someone who is not on our website and the answer to this is YES. Whilst we have about 300 speakers on our website and add new names relatively frequently, we also have an extensive database of further contacts that allow us to book a wider range of speakers. Below are just a few examples of speakers we have worked with who are not on our website but have recently done speaking events for us.

This is our June 2022 Speaker News roundup, this month featuring feedback on Simon Wheatcroft, Phil Olley, Anthony Bennett, and Donna Fraser; updated biogs from Jasmine Birtles and Alex Staniforth, a new showreel from Jack Nolan and we welcome new speakers Rebecca Brown, Jonathan Acott and Stephen Whitton to the website.

James Poulter is the CEO & Co-Founder of Vixen Labs (a leading full-service voice agency) and James and his team have just launched their Voice Consumer Index 2022, which looks at people’s attitudes towards voice and how it has changed over the past year.

Our book of the month for June is “An Idiots Love of Idioms” by speaker Nick Smethurst which was published on 31st May 2022. Nick never intended on writing a book but the Covid lockdowns in the UK allowed him to start posting on social media about one of his passions, Idioms/sayings/phrases, and their origins. Nick quickly realised he wasn’t on his own with his fascination and after posting well over 300 of these ‘origin’ stories he gained a large following of people who would get involved by posing new ones to Nick. 

Andrew Pain is a TEDx / Keynote speaker, who speaks on decision-making under pressure, burnout, effective delegation, time management and personal performance. He can also speak on Imposter Syndrome and has very kindly allow us to share a recent article he wrote on the subject matter.

Inspirational Speaker and Paralympian Anne Wafula Strike MBE has been awarded an Honorary Degree from the University of Essex. Anne is a sporting ambassador, and disability rights and inclusion campaigner and in 2020, was appointed as a Commonwealth special envoy Champion for Equality in Sports with a role to promote the Commonwealth’s values and principles around the world by connecting sporting initiatives and supporting the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals relating to sport, peace and development and improving equality in sport.
