He is also an accredited mindfulness teacher and brought these two worlds together in his book Organisational Mindfulness – a How-to Guide in 2019, which has sold in 4 continents. He has sent us new details on a new talk –
Finding our inner Phoenix – preventing and recovering from burnout
Andrew discovered mindfulness and other thriving tools 11 years ago when he was burnt out and had to step back from work to find techniques that would help him from being overwhelmed and able to work effectively in a high pressure environment. In this talk Andrew shares his experience of approaching these tools as a skeptic and describes how they have transformed his life, his leadership skills and his career. He invites questions from anyone who is interested in exploring this further and finding out more about why and how it will help.
From this talk you will take away
- Initial neuroscience insights
- An introduction to mindfulness
- Tools to help you integrate these insights into your life
Dan Keeley is one of the UK’s leading mental health activists, thought leaders and keynote speakers on a mission to empower the UK to speak up when they are suffering. In 2017, after a 5 year battle with bipolar disorder and coming close to taking his own life, Dan ran 1250 miles from the Colosseum in Rome back to the London Eye to share his story on a national scale – raising over £15,000 for The Campaign Against Living Miserably and inspiring hundreds of others to speak up about their own personal battles.
His newest talk details are below –
Session 1 – Men, Masculinity and Mental Health
Dan Keeley will discuss all things men, masculinity and mental health from his own perspective and lived experience, sharing his unique brand of wisdom that never fails to illuminate and inspire. Dan will be discussing some of the big questions: – Why is suicide still the leading cause of death for men under 45? – Why do men find it so hard to speak up when they are suffering? – How do we find the courage to speak up when we’re suffering? – How do we create the safe space for others to speak up when they’re struggling? He will delve into the concept of masculinity and how this has changed over the past few decades, weaving in a range of narratives around the power of putting ourselves first, the fact that we’re connected through our ‘weaknesses’, not our strengths, and why it’s so important, particularly for men, to speak up when we are struggling.
NEW SPEAKERS
We are delighted to welcome entrepreneur Mike Greene to the website
Mike Greene is an entrepreneur, growth mentor, consultant, and speaker on strategic change and Leadership. Born and raised on council estates, Mike Greene has worked hard to achieve success within the business world.
Mike rose through the ranks and by his early twenties had established his own retail consultancy business; a meteoric rise, followed by a dramatic change in fortunes, which resulted in him losing everything. Undeterred he did it all again – but this time, he did it right.
After taking a few years to rebuild his corporate career working with Global oil companies and retailers to develop their retail businesses and advising across dozens of countries Mike bought retail consultancy “him!” with Tom Fender and together they grew it into a £multimillion business working across Europe and with offices in the UK, USA, Australia, and New Zealand before selling to WRBM (William Reed Ltd).
In 2011/12 Mike starred as one of Channel 4’s Secret Millionaires. Following the programme, which had a great impact on him, he sold his main business and took a three-month sabbatical with the personal challenge to raise £100,000 for 100 charities in 100 days. He was successful in this bid and was inspired to go on to commit one-third of his time to help charities and mentoring people to change their lives for the better.
