Crisis Management
Crises can occur at any moment with or without warning and can take many forms – from personal crises to corporate/organisational crises.
Whilst businesses can aim to plan properly for critical events, it does not always work out. These are a few speakers who can either speak on their own crisis management experiences, what they did at the time, and how they dealt with the pressure or talk on how to lead in times of crisis.
Sebastian Coe is a two-time Olympic Gold Medallist and former head of the London 2012 Olympic Team and in-demand motivational and leadership speaker.
Lord Coe was asked to head London’s bid to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He led London to victory over Paris, with many pointing to his rousing speech at the 2005 vote in Singapore as the decisive moment. Despite early public cynicism, he helped to win over the media and London went on to host a phenomenally successful Olympic Games, with Lord Coe at the helm.
His speeches cover his time as an Olympic athlete, an MP, and his chairmanship of London 2012, and include the ups and downs and turbulent times and triumphs and how through strong leadership anything can be achieved.
His themes include –
- Leadership,

Garrett Emmerson is the former Chief Executive Officer of the London Ambulance Service (LAS) who led the Service through the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as responding to multiple major incidents including the two London Bridge terrorist attacks and the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy.
Appointed to modernise the Service after it was put into ‘special measures’ by NHS regulators, following a damming report by Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors rating it ‘inadequate’ overall, Garrett oversaw a transformation that, within two years, saw it exit special measures and be re-rated as ‘Good’ overall by the CQC.
However, his greatest leadership challenge would come in early 2020, when London was hit first and hardest in the UK by the COVID-19 pandemic. The nature of its role as the city’s primary emergency healthcare provider meant that LAS was at the forefront of the national response to this global emergency.
Garrett Emmerson is an accomplished speaker with a multitude of inspirational leadership lessons, experiences, and anecdotes from the heart of government and public service that will resonate with anyone working in a high-pressure operational environment.
His speaking topics include –
- Leadership
- Change
- Crisis Management
- Working Under Pressure
- Communication
- Thinking outside the box – building relationships
LOUAI AL ROUMANI
Louai Al Roumani was part of the management team of one of the largest banks in Syria when the conflict broke out in 2011. Over the next four years, as head of finance and strategy at Banque Bemo Saudi Fransi (BBSF) he would find himself navigating an almost impossible crisis in one of the most horrendous wars in modern times. Many of the bank’s branches were rampaged by jihadists, mortar bombs rained down on Louai and his colleagues regularly and he was under constant threat of kidnapping.
They faced a currency depreciation of 500%, the bank went through 6 different CEOs in 8 years and the default rate on loans skyrocketed. In spite of all that, the bank thrived.
Louai shares his experiences and the lessons he learned with powerful visuals and images from the war-battered streets of Syria. He outlines his clear key steps on how to navigate a crisis and demonstrates how lessons learned in a warzone can help us today
