Anti-Bullying Week Speakers

Anti-Bullying Week Speakers

The Anti-Bullying Week takes place from Monday 14th November 2022 to Friday 18th November 2022. Organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance it is an annual UK event, which aims to raise awareness of bullying of children and young people, in schools and elsewhere, and to highlight ways of preventing and responding to it.

From schools to the workplace, bullying can take place anywhere, and if you planning an event to mark this week we work with a number of speakers who talk about their experiences of bullying and how some of them overcame the impact it had on them.

REBECCA BROWN

Rebecca Brown is a multi-award-winning customer experience professional with over a decade of hands-on experience transforming the customer experience of UK and international businesses and a speaker on customer service, feminism, and anti-bullying.

Rebecca Brown talks openly about her own experiences of bullying and suffering from endometriosis whilst climbing the career ladder. She believes in the huge importance of increasing empathy and flexibility in business if more women are going to be able to achieve their full potential.

ANDREW PAIN

Andrew Pain is a TEDx / Keynote speaker, inspiring meaningful change and delivering practical strategies on critical aspects of leadership development, including; decision-making under pressure, burnout, effective delegation, time management, and personal performance.

Andrew Pain’s journey to speaker and coaching began 15 years ago, when stuck in a violent and abusive marriage, with no ambitions of his own and a chronic worrier, he set about taking control of his life and transforming his future.

As a long-term survivor of domestic abuse in a former marriage, Andrews knows only too well the impact of domestic abuse on performance at work: from the extraordinary levels of sick leave he took, the excessive, stressful, and lengthy personal phone calls he received, to falling asleep on the phone to his clients mid-way through the phone call due to sheer exhaustion!

JACKIE HANDY

Jackie Handy is a leading keynote speaker on diversity and inclusion in business leadership

From selling antiques on her parent’s market stall as a 12-year-old, traveling the world working as a holiday rep in her early 20s to spending a 15-year career as a recruiter and senior leader, before moving to Learning and Development in 2011, her skills and knowledge are extremely varied!

In 2018, Jackie Handy made the brave decision to share her personal story of bullying and exclusion in her TEDx talk, ‘The exclusive nature of inclusion’. This became the catalyst for her to become a leading authority in diversity, equity, and inclusion in business leadership.

ALEX STANIFORTH

Alex Staniforth is a record-breaking adventurer, ultra-endurance athlete, published author, speaker, brand ambassador, and charity founder from Cheshire who has never taken the conventional path to the top.

At the age of 26 he has already attempted Mount Everest twice – but Alex is not your typical Everest speaker. After climbing Mont Blanc at 17 and single-handedly raising over £35,000 in corporate sponsorship whilst still at school, his first attempt to climb to the summit of Mount Everest in 2014 was abandoned following a tragic avalanche that took sixteen lives. Aged just 19, he returned a year later and survived an avalanche in the Khumbu Icefall, triggered by the Nepal earthquake, which trapped his team on the mountain for two days.

However, his biggest challenges have been much closer to home. Alex is no stranger to adversity, after overcoming epilepsy, bullying, anxiety, mental ill health, and a stammer since childhood. Discovering the outdoors empowered him to achieve through adversity and take advantage of his stammer by speaking to audiences across the UK and Europe.
