We Need Some Glen
When I used to work in my previous job, on the occasion we had a hard or tough day, me and my colleague Jean used to say “we need some Glen!” and then played Rhinestone Cowboy by Glen Campbell. Somehow it always made us smile and put us in a good mood.
This was just a tiny thing that helped us out personally, but we work with a number of speakers who speak in depth about mental health/stress and anxiety and some of things they have done to help with their mental health.

Mountains in the Mind: Building Mental Fitness to Beat Burnout – High performance isn’t sustainable without managing our well-being too. For leaders, supporting the team often starts by putting our hand up first. Drawing from an athlete mindset, Alex shares his mental fitness toolkit so we can manage stress, spot the warning signs of poor mental health, support others and avoid burnout – one small step at a time.

Struggling with a clinical depression first appearing in his adolescence, Harrison’s life spiralled out of control as he began to medicate his mind with alcohol. At its worst, he was consuming in excess of 20 pints daily, was a full-time smoker, and had ballooned in weight to over 22 stone. His medicine had become a further poison.
His talk touches on moments of resilience, not being afraid to ask for help, change management, and the power of the outdoors for mental and physical well-being. As well as difficult subjects that may be effecting members of the workforce, directly or indirectly.
