ANDREW BRYANT: A GLOBAL AUTHORITY ON SELF-LEADERSHIP IN THE AGE OF AI

Andrew Bryant, CSP, is the Global Authority on Self-Leadership in the Age of AI.

He is the Founder and CEO of Self Leadership International (est. 1999), a Certified Speaking Professional, executive coach, and the author of five books — including the foundational academic text Self Leadership (Bryant & Kazan, McGraw-Hill, 2012), now cited in more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, and his most recent work, POTENTIAL-IZE: How Leaders Unlock Human Potential in the Age of AI (Wiley, 2026).

What distinguishes Andrew in this space is not simply what he knows. It is what he has built. He co-authored the most widely cited working definition of self-leadership in the management literature, then spent the following 25+ years testing and refining that framework with executive leadership teams, Fortune 500 companies, Silicon Valley startups, and major multinationals across more than 40 countries. That combination — rigorous academic foundation, deep practitioner experience, and the ability to make ideas work on the floor — is what meeting planners and L&D leaders book him for.

His latest book, POTENTIAL-IZE (Wiley, 2026), introduces the IGNITE Framework, a six-stage leadership development model (Inspire, Guide, Nurture, Integrate, Transform, Evaluate) designed specifically for organizations navigating AI-driven change. The book’s central argument: as AI assumes cognitive tasks, human judgment, trust-building, and self-directed performance become more valuable, not less. Leadership development that fails to address this shift misses the point.

Andrew holds the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, earned by fewer than 12% of professional speakers worldwide. He holds faculty associations with MIT and Singapore Management University. Clients include Microsoft, Singapore Airlines, Airbus, Credit Suisse, Deloitte, Pfizer, Red Hat, and Visa, across more than 40 countries.

As a former physiotherapist and acupuncturist who worked with elite athletes, Andrew brings an unusual credibility to the stage: he understands high performance from the inside out — in bodies, in minds, and in organisations. English by birth, Australian by passport, and now based in Portugal after 17 years in Asia, Andrew is a genuine global citizen whose cultural fluency has served audiences from Singapore to Stockholm to San Francisco.

He is Past President of Asia Professional Speakers Singapore and former President of the Professional Speakers Association of Spain.

KEYNOTE TALKS

POTENTIAL-IZE: Unlocking Human Potential in the Age of AI

AI is changing what is expected of every leader and every team. But the organizations that will pull ahead are not the ones with the best AI tools — they are the ones where human potential and AI capability amplify each other rather than compete. This keynote, drawn from Andrew’s Wiley book POTENTIAL-IZE (2026), offers leaders a practical formula for unlocking their own potential and that of their teams as the nature of work transforms. Grounded in the POTENTIAL-IZE formula (Capacity x Opportunity x Willingness) and the IGNITE Framework, it is designed for leadership teams navigating complexity at the intersection of people and technology.

Self-Leadership: The Foundation of High Performance

Before we can lead others, we must first lead ourselves. This is the central insight of Bryant & Kazan (2012) — the academic text on self-leadership now cited in more than 200 research studies worldwide. This keynote brings that research to life: what self-leadership actually is (not motivation, not self-help, but the disciplined practice of intentionally influencing your own thinking, feeling, and behavior), why it is the single biggest lever available to individuals and organizations trying to improve performance, and how to build it systematically. Audiences leave with a clear model and practical tools they can apply immediately.

 Driving Accelerated Results with Self-Leadership

Performance does not scale through control. It scales through ownership.
Most organizations have people waiting to be led. Self-leadership removes bottlenecks, accelerates decision-making, and builds accountability at every level. This keynote shifts the frame from managing behavior to developing the internal capacity that drives results — and makes them stick.

Key outcomes: understand self-leadership as the foundation of performance; regulate thinking, emotion, and behavior under pressure; eliminate internal obstacles to results; build a culture of ownership and accountability; inspire with a new leadership narrative.

Owning the Unknown: Leading in Uncertainty

Leaders are being asked to drive performance at speed while managing burnout, hybrid teams, multi-generational workforces, and AI disruption. The playbook that worked five years ago is no longer enough. This keynote gives leaders a new one. Drawing on Andrew’s book The New Leadership Playbook and his IGNITE Framework, this equips leaders to hold others accountable without damaging psychological safety, set expectations that eliminate confusion, distinguish self-efficacy from self-confidence under pressure, and make decisions when the data is incomplete and the rules keep changing.

Executive Presence: Influence Without Authority

Leaders who understand how to build genuine influence — not rank-based authority — consistently outperform their peers. This session addresses executive presence not as a grooming checklist but as a behavioral and communication discipline. Drawing on Andrew’s work with C-suite leaders across 40 countries, it covers how to build credibility, command a room, sustain influence over time, and lead across cultures where authority and hierarchy operate differently. Particularly relevant for leaders navigating matrix organizations, cross-border teams, or the step from functional expert to enterprise leader.

The Co-Pilot Economy: Leading When AI is in the Room

The question is no longer whether AI will change how your leaders work. It already has. The question is whether your leaders are equipped to remain the most valuable asset in the room when their co-pilot is a machine that does not sleep, does not forget, and does not need a visa. This session explores what self-leadership looks like in a world of AI co-pilots: which human capabilities AI cannot replicate, how leaders can intentionally develop those capabilities, and what organizations must do differently to build a culture of human-AI collaboration rather than displacement anxiety.

The First Responder in the Room: Self-Leadership and Resilience

The most common point of failure in organizational resilience is not the absence of a plan. It is the absence of a leader who can regulate themselves under pressure before they can help anyone else. This keynote draws on Andrew’s Self-Leadership Resilience Stack — self-awareness, emotional regulation, and Psychological Capital — to give leaders a practical model for becoming the first responder in any high-pressure situation. It is grounded in research on PsyCap (Luthans et al.) and connects directly to the physiological and psychological dimensions of performance under stress — an area Andrew has studied since his years working with elite athletes as a physiotherapist.

Leadership 4.0: Amplifying Human Potential in an AI Era

A broader-lens version of the AI leadership conversation, positioned for audiences who need to understand the macro shift rather than just the tactical response. Leadership 4.0 addresses the transition from the industrial model of leadership (directing and controlling) to the knowledge economy model (engaging and empowering), and then to what comes next: a model in which human potential is the primary differentiator and the leader’s job is to create the conditions for it to emerge.

Self-Leadership for Women: Owning Your Authority

A program with a strong track record in Andrew’s work with Singapore Management University’s Women in Leadership program and with women’s leadership initiatives across financial services, life sciences, and professional services in Asia. This is not a program about overcoming disadvantage — it is about the specific self-leadership practices that enable women leaders to own their authority, build strategic visibility, and lead on their own terms in organizational cultures that were not originally designed with them in mind.

The Self-Aware Leader: Coaching Culture from the Inside Out

Based on Andrew’s extensive executive coaching work and his engagement with John Maxwell’s The Self-Aware Leader, this program is for organizations that want to shift from a directive to a coaching culture. It gives managers and leaders the self-awareness tools and conversational frameworks to become more effective coaches to their own teams — not as a separate activity, but as an integrated part of how they lead daily.
