Little Book Of Belonging

Little Book Of Belonging

Our July Book of the month is the “The Little Book of Belonging” by Jackie Handy, a keynote speaker on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

ABOUT THE BOOK

In Jackie’s own words –

So often we struggle with Diversity & Inclusion. We know it’s the right thing to do. We know that it will reap benefits in our personal and professional lives. But we get stuck on knowing where to start. At work, we receive unconscious bias training or training on avoiding discrimination.

As useful as that can be, it often misses the point of creating a true, deep sense of belonging for everyone. I wrote this book to encourage positive action. Knowing that when kindness and positive intention leads us, and that when inspiration guides us, we move forward.

We make change. We make progress.

With words to motivate you and questions for self-reflection, The Little Book of Belonging provides you with simple ideas spanning 52 weeks, that will have a positive impact on your life and on the lives of those around you. Please visit the website to order a copy.

About Jackie Handy

Jackie Handy is a leading keynote speaker on diversity and inclusion in business leadership

From selling antiques on her parent’s market stall as a 12-year-old, traveling the world working as a holiday rep in her early 20s to spending a 15-year career as a recruiter and senior leader, before moving to Learning and Development in 2011, her skills and knowledge are extremely varied!

In 2018, Jackie Handy made the brave decision to share her personal story of bullying and exclusion in her TEDx talk, ‘The exclusive nature of inclusion’. This became the catalyst for her to become a leading authority in diversity, equity, and inclusion in business leadership.

Through sharing her personal story, Jackie provides the audience with several core takeaways – including –

  • Understanding why exclusion happens
  • ‘Busting the myth’ on privilege
  • Using inclusive language
  • Knowing the true definition of inclusion

Her storytelling capability, coupled with her easy-to-apply principles means you will feel engaged from start to finish and be able to make a difference in how you live and work immediately.
