Anj Handa is the Founder of Inspiring Women Changemakers, a dynamic movement of changemakers who speak up for women’s rights.

She was recently recognised in Forbes as one of the 10 Diversity & Inclusion Trailblazers You Need to Get Familiar With.

During this period of lockdown Anj has been busy speaking at virtual events as well as devising online programmes and writing articles on mental health and sustainability. These are just some highlights and more information on some of the work she has been doing.

SPEAKING

Anj has been speaking at a variety of online events over the past month or so. Most recently she spoke at the Youth4Europe on Civic Responsibility.

In this session, Anj spoke about what young people can do individually and collectively to make positive social change. Within a week her video had received over 800 views.

Organiser Ben Holland said “Anj was amazing when she spoke for one our Youth for Europe series of online talks. Youth for Europe is a large scale European youth project funded by the Erasmus plus programme and the European Commission. It has brought together over 200 young people together from 6 different countries with European policy makers and inspiring people to create European policies to present to the EU on 3 main topics; education, media and the environment.

With her experience it was hard to pick just one – but we settled on her personal journey and how it relates to sustainability and responsible citizenship.”

On 10th June, her interview with former journalist Sonja Lewis on the UIO (You, Inside Out) podcast will be released. Aimed at teenage girls, the interview covered how make inroads as a changemaker and how to work towards influencing change for a better life experience for themselves, their friends and entire generation of teenage girls.

Anj has also delivered a session on ‘Navigating Change’ for the Federation of Small Business North Yorkshire branch. The session covered how to be resilient and manage your responses to change, and how to plan and prepare for a new way of working, with a takeaway tool based on the Change Curve. Carolyn Frank of FSB says “Anj’s presentation and delivery gained great feedback from delegates who appreciated her insight and passion for the subject. She was able to connect with all attendees even though this event was an online delivery via zoom in a really positive way and she has been a delight to work with from start to finish.”For more info click here
