Brand, Marketing Speaker & Culture Director, London 2012

Greg Nugent served as Director of Brand, Marketing and Culture for the London Olympics and Paralympics and as a speaker offers his advice on branding strategy and customer services.

Greg was responsible for building customer relationships to the look and feel of the Games. His role was to make sure that the Olympics would genuinely inspire a generation and now takes what he has learned from his experience to inspire the business world.

Having worked in political polling before games, he knew how important it was to engage with, and he and his team worked with community leaders to create an Olympics that everyone would remember. His focus was building a brand that would appeal to the masses, with no complicated jargon yet maintaining the brands’ message and purpose.

For many London 2012 would be a once in a lifetime experience and to ensure so Greg and his team had to make sure that every problem was identified in advance and what they could do to make sure every customer had a fantastic experience

In his speeches, Greg draws lessons from this once-in-a-lifetime event that apply to any business. Key messages include the importance of planning, how to develop a customer experience and to make sure to involve everyone in the challenges faced by the organisation.

Before joining LOCOG Greg was Head of Marketing at Eurostar, where he helped steer HS1 and the move to St Pancras.
